Entrepreneurial Tip Tuesday

I am often asked for advice from aspiring female entrepreneurs and I love it :) It makes me so happy to see other women dreaming big and working hard. I mentioned last week that being intentional about time is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to fast track towards your dreams. And this week I stumbled upon this quote and I couldn't agree more and I just had to share it with you.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

I think many new entrepreneurs look at other entrepreneurs journeys, who are further along, and want to be where they are. It's easy to get impatient, I know. But I truly believe that if you start where you are, not comparing yourself to others, and start with your passion or something you love doing then you will have completed the hardest part which is simply just starting. It's important to use what you have. This might be the one thing I want you to listen to the most: do not go into debt before you even know the demand of your product or idea. Do not go buy the fancy new computer. Do not buy the fancy new desk. You don't need them. What you need to do is focus on opening your business and making that first sale. Get that making sales part down really really well and then go buy the fancy desk :) Lastly, try to do what you can in the beginning and not hire everything out. This is important for two reasons: when you do hire help, you will have worn every single hat of your business and will know it like the back of your hand. I remember early on I referred to myself as the owner, designer, packager, shipper and the janitor :) Secondly, most businesses starting out don't have the budget for additional employees so try to do as much as you can on your own, get as many sales as you can and build up your business and then you'll become so busy that you'll know when it's time to hire your first employee :)

Cheers to making dreams happen! xo, Taylor

My Biggest Tip for Entrepreneurs Starting Their Journey

Hi friends! I was thinking about something earlier while I was rocking my sweet 11 month old to sleep and I wanted to share it with you.

I am often asked what my tips are for entrepreneurs just beginning their journey in owning a small business. That is a big question because it seems like every season I am learning something new. But, I think implementing this one thing has helped me so much, I just had to share with you in the hopes it might help you too.

A couple of years ago, I began being extremely intentional about my time. I chose to never waste a moment doing something that wasn't productive (hear me out on my definition of productive). Even if I was sitting down to watch a movie, it became intentional. I love movies and find a lot of relaxation in watching them, so I believe watching a movie can be productive because relaxation is a must! An area that I have had to be super duper intentional about is social media. I personally choose to not let myself lose an hour scrolling facebook or instagram. I do use social media for my business and I love it--when I hop on facebook or instagram, I have a goal in mind whether it's to post something or to scroll with the intention of seeing what our customers (and my friends!) are up to that day.

It it crazy the amount of work I can get done when I am being intentional about my time. I owe a lot of my business growth to simply being intentional about time. When I am working, I am working very hard but when it's time to play with my baby boy and husband, my intention is being present and having fun with them. It's simply a balance.

Hope you found this the slightest bit helpful.
